Applications are now being accepted for the Advocate’s annual college scholarship.

The deadline for the 2022 scholarship is March 1, 2022.

Every year in the spring, the South Carolina United Methodist Advocate invites students to apply for a $1,000 college scholarship.

The scholarship is for students who are South Carolina United Methodist and are planning to enroll or are already enrolled at one of the four United Methodist colleges in South Carolina: Claflin University, Columbia College, Spartanburg Methodist College or Wofford College.

Students should have an interest in business, communications or journalism.

The application season closes March 1 each year.

To apply for the scholarship:

Fill out the scholarship application, which includes space for an essay on how the scholarship would help you in pursuing a college degree, and your view of the role of journalism in ministry. A college or high school transcript and a letter from your chaplain or the senior pastor of your home church are also required.
