The 179-year-old South Carolina United Methodist Advocate newspaper will celebrate Advocate Awareness Day May 22, 2016, with a speaker and subscription campaign at United Methodist churches across South Carolina.
Advocate Awareness Day is a chance for churches to understand the importance of the Advocate’s newspaper ministry and to connect with the Advocate through a subscription. The Advocate is your source for United Methodist news in South Carolina, and we hope all United Methodists will subscribe to the Advocate and use it as the connectional tool that it is.
The Advocate has been earning a reputation as one of the best newspapers in the denomination, winning award after award (82 since 2010!) from the South Carolina Press Association, the United Methodist Association of Communicators and the Religion Communicators Council.
The Advocate has a number of free materials available for churches to celebrate awareness day:
- A brief video to download and use in your church
- Free newspapers (request here)
- Speakers (request here)
- Bulletin inserts to download, print and pop right into your Sunday bulletin
- New subscription envelopes (request here)
