Submit an article or photo to the Advocate

All United Methodist-related news submissions, press releases, calendar items, letters to the editor, photos and articles are welcome.

Submissions should be about a South Carolina United Methodist church, ministry, or individual, or be of interest to South Carolina United Methodists.

Email your submissions to [email protected].

Submissions don’t need to be perfect—the Advocate edits everything fully for grammar, style, spelling, length, and readability. We also welcome questions.

Deadlines are the 10th of each month for the following month’s paper (e.g. Sept. 10 is the deadline for the October paper). We are a monthly publication, so news must be sent well in advance.

If email is not an option, then we can accept submissions by mail at the Advocate, 4908 Colonial Dr., Columbia, SC 29203.

Again: All news submissions are fully edited. Letters and commentary are subject only to editing as needed to meet standards of grammar, space and interest. Inappropriate language or personal attacks will be struck. If you have a submission that promotes a business or sells an item, you would be better served through a display advertisement.
