Advocate wins two more journalism awards

COLUMBIA—The Advocate has won two more awards from the South Carolina Press Association.

At the SCPA’s annual awards meeting March 18 in Columbia, the Advocate was honored with third place in its division for Best Newspaper Publication. Editor Jessica Brodie also received third place in Editorial Writing for her column in the June Advocate, “It’s OK to Hit Pause Sometimes.”

These latest awards bring the total to 84 the Advocate has garnered since 2010 from the SCPA, as well as the United Methodist Association of Communicators and the interfaith Religion Communicators Council.
