New awareness video released about Advocate
The Advocate has released a new one-minute video about its newspaper ministry, and the video is available to churches, small groups and individuals to watch and share.
The 2018 video showcases the missions and ministries covered by the Advocate across the South Carolina Annual Conference, as well as what the Advocate is, how long it has been in existence (since 1837!) and more. Some noteworthy distinctions: the Advocate is the oldest newspaper in Methodism, and it has won more than 100 writing and journalism excellence awards since 2010 under the leadership of its current editor, Jessica Brodie.

The video can be used any time, or it can be used in tandem with churches' Advocate Awareness Day celebrations May 20, 2018. Every year in May, the Advocate holds its annual awareness day, which is intended to help churches, pastors and individuals understand the Advocate’s newspaper ministry.
"The Advocate has a reputation as one of the best religious publications in existence today, and we are really excited about this year's video. It's engaging and fun to watch," said Brodie.
In addition to the video, the Advocate has a number of free materials for churches and individuals to inform their congregations about the newspaper's longtime ministry.
