Salkehatchie Summer Service helps families across S.C.

Youth and adults teamed up across South Carolina for 32 Salkehatchie Summer Service camps this summer, ultimately repairing more than 100 homes for families in need through the help of nearly 1,200 volunteers.

The ministry, which started in 1978, is a weeklong mission experience that enables teens and adults to repair houses for people in need across South Carolina. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
