In the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting Oct. 1, called the deadliest mass shooting in United States history, The United Methodist Church spoke out and reached out in love and compassion in an effort to be the church for people frightened and in desperate need.

United Methodists seeking a return to traditional Wesleyan doctrine and an orthodox, Spirit-filled church gathered across the nation Oct. 14 for a meeting of the Wesleyan Covenant Association. While the live venue was held at The Woodlands United Methodist Church near Houston, South Carolina’s Mount Horeb UMC, Lexington, hosted one of the 64 simulcasts across the United States, drawing a crowd of clergy and laity eager to hear what the WCA had to say regarding the denomination and its future.
- Flood brings together Trenholm Road UMC, Centro Cristiano Jess Torres on the latest chapter in a growing ministry partnership that began in October 2015, when Trenholm Road UMC became the hub of flood relief efforts for the entire Midlands. It was during that time that pastors Henry Alfaro and the Rev.
