Job Vacancy: Church Choral Accompanist

Title: Church Choral Accompanist, St. Mark United Methodist Church, Seneca, SC

Qualifications:  Expertise in accompanying choirs on the piano is required.  A bachelor’s degree in music or a related field is preferred.  

Administrative Responsibilities: The Choral Accompanist position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Music Ministries. The accompanist will be expected to work cooperatively with other members of the church staff, the Worship committee and others involved in the music ministry of the church. 

Experience: at least 3 years of experience accompanying choirs

Program Responsibilities:

1. Provide piano and/or organ accompaniment for the chancel choir on Sunday mornings and at weekly Wednesday rehearsals.  

 2. Obtain substitute organist and/or pianist as needed (Director of Music Ministries will serve as primary substitute)

3. Occasionally accompany vocal and instrumental soloists/small groups as requested by the Director of Music Ministries. 

4. Lead sectional rehearsals as needed.  

Compensation:  The position is part time and pays $125 per service (rehearsals on Wednesday nights and worship service on Sunday mornings); $13,000 per year, based on 52 weeks per year.
