S.C.’s Hudson included in Discipleship Ministries’ RE-Launch Part 2

South Carolina elder the Rev. Wendy Hudson was among five church planters included in a United Methodist Church Discipleship Ministries Path 1 resource called RE-Launch.

RE-Launch Part 1 was produced in April, and Hudson was in RE-Launch Part 2, released in July.

In the first RE-Launch episode, four church planting veterans (coaches and planters alike) explored the unique opportunity for re-thinking church possibilities as churches with closed buildings looked toward re-opening.

For the second RE-Launch conversation, Paul Nixon and Rachel Gilmore invited Hudson and four other United Methodist church planters from across North America to put themselves in the shoes of pastors everywhere, looking at the ministry opportunities of 2020. They also asked them to imagine that they were launching public worship and ministry for a new church this year, of all years—what would they do, and specifically what would they do differently this year from any other year?

Discipleship Ministries said their answers “made for an amazing conversation, and invite us to a deeper re-think of what church is than we were ready for two months earlier.”

Hudson is lead pastor of Two Rivers Church, a United Methodist community in Charleston and a new church start of the South Carolina Conference of the UMC.
