Youth ministry collaboration session set for April 13 in Blythewood
BLYTHEWOOD—Have you ever been discouraged by only having a few youth in your church show up for youth ministry? Do you wonder what it might be like to join with other churches to form a youth group, but weren’t sure how to do it? Are you in a church that isn’t able to provide staff for youth ministry?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider joining the South Carolina Conference’s Ministries with Young People for a Collaborative Youth Ministry Think Tank gathering April 13 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Blythewood, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants will hear from the Rev. Maggie Cantey, leader of United Youth in the Spartanburg District, who has successfully launched a collaborative youth ministry there. Cantey will share how United Youth was begun, the principles that guided her through that process, as well as some potential pitfalls along the way.
There is no cost for the event, and lunch will be served.
