In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, a group of United Methodist churches from South Carolina quickly organized to bring much-needed supplies to Marion, North Carolina, in McDowell County.

When the youth of Memorial United Methodist Church were tasked with hosting a fundraiser to help supplement the cost of their annual fall retreat, they quickly put their heads together. Soon they came back with, “We have an idea!”

Dawsey United Methodist Church and CELECTS Education have joined together to create an opportunity for children in Florence, with the church opening its doors to serve as the host site for the school.
